Agbar Automotive (a subsidiary of the Agbar Group) began its operations in 1996 in the area of automobile certification and inspection, and went on to become leaders in the market in numerous countries. The diversification of its operations, in accordance with a new strategy and internalization, made it evident that a new brand was needed, one whose vision would be centered around certification in various fields. The name Applus, which expresses an international concept, refers to the highest mark obtained in an exam or an inspection, and has the particularity of being pronounced exactly the same way as its abbreviation (A+), which is the symbol that guarantees certification. The project also contemplated the design of the brand architecture for the different lines of business, with a global development in all of the brand's areas of expression.
