New Brand Strategy and Identity. Corporate Identity | 2008
SUMMA has created the new brand strategy and corporate identity for RTVE and its participating companies. It consists of a common visual system for the Corporation and for TVE, RNE and RTVE.es in response to a new integrated brand strategy.
The new corporate identity created by SUMMA springs from the concept of light; light is energy and speed, it symbolizes renewal and expresses warmth. In its entirety the new identity strives for a balance between the technological and the human, connoting leadership, proximity and movement.
The logotypes, based on a typography specially redesigned for RTVE emphasize the “e,” which is the vowel shared by all the brands of the group. This vowel becomes the common surname, as well as an element that brings personality and identifying power to the collective whole of RTVE’s companies (TVE, RNE and RTVE.es). In this way, the new corporate identity establishes a shared visual system for the brand of the corporation and the brands of its companies.
The Corporate Identity of RTVE and its companies hadn’t been updated in decades, despite the major transformations experienced by the audiovisual sector and the Corporation itself.
In September the new identity will be incorporated into the main physical, audiovisual and interactive mediums of all the companies in the group. SUMMA is also developing the identity and on-screen animation for channels 1, 2 and the TVE theme channels, based on the same concept of light. These will all be launched in September, at the start of the new season.
